Inspired by this board and in want of a Josefina and Felicity who actually look nice, I called up my friend to see how her dolls are doing. She THINKS they are in the basement! Those poor dears!
She doesn't know what she is going to do with them, but I know she forgot about them. She has a Josefina and a Felicity and the last time I saw them they were in PERFECT condition. Josefina even still had the flower in her braid. Ugh.
Do you think I could convince her to give them to me? Should I offer to buy them? I would really LOVE these dolls. Her mom is kind of uptight, but she might let my friend give them to me for my birthday. Any ideas?

Depends on how old your friend is. Ask your mom to check with her mom to see if she wants to sell them.
I would love to have a friend nearby that had AG dolls. Maybe you can share your interest, show her some online pics, or introduce her to hostboard. You might spark her interest and then you would have someone to share AG with. [img]smile.gif[/img]
If she really isn't interested and won't become interested in the futrue, then I would let her know what her dolls are worth and offer to buy them. If she sells them to you at a really low price now or just gives them to you and later finds out how valuable they are, she is going to be hurt and feel cheated. I don't think you would be able to enjoy the dolls knowing that and you would probably lose a friend.
I would offer to buy them first. I mean, that would be really nice of your friend to give them to you for your birthday, but I wouldn't expect it.
It wouldn't hurt to ask if she would sell them! Just talk with her on what would be a fair rate. Hopefully it would work out!

My friend is 15 and I am 16. We've always had different personalities, and I think she got the dolls just because I had them. Her mom and her sister were more into them than she was. I will offer to buy them, but not until after Italy and Harper (23), otherwise I'll be broke... lol

As hard as it is for us to believe, your friend might actually want something else more than she wants the dolls and those poor dollies would probably love to live where they are truly wanted.
